what is a super 8?

what is a super 8? what doesw it do? i have one, but i have no idea what it does. can anyone direct me to a site with this sort of general information?

Super 8 is a film technolgy.
Your camera shoots film, much like professional motion picture cameras shoot, only on a much smaller sized width of film.
That is why it' much cheaper to shoot on than larger format films, like 35mm film.
It's also why Super 8 doesn't have the quality of larger formats, but, because it stil uses the same technology; an image being exposed onto film, it has much of the same look and feel that the professional films do.
When shot correctly, footage on Super 8 is much better looking than footage shot on any video cameras.
Spend some time going through the archives on this website, and you will learn much about Super 8.
